You tread lightly upon my heart
but always, I feel the warmth.
No summer's shimmer compares
with the beat of your aura
conjoined with mine. Passages
of time spent alone color my soul
bleak; only your hand upon
my eternity grants me a smile.
If moments were decades still
our love would phase away far
too quickly, truly... you
are my reason for survival
in a world lost to the decency
of honor, praise and respect.
Your delicate whispers touch
deep; I sense you in each sunrise
as I bask in your love, absolutely.
Each refreshed dawn is a renewal
of vows we shared when the universe
was birthed; our love unashamed.
My soul mate, love, my reason
for continued breaths...take
my adoration, hold it close
and know I will always love you.

Petals In The Snow
As the chill of winter weighs heavy on this burdened
heart ... I have succumbed to those moments when
your presence lingers with me ... when I'm able to
rest in the serenity of your whispers and the comfort
of your embrace; I surrendered my heart under the
breath of a summer sky so long ago ... and even
now when all that remains are crimson petals
cast upon a blanket of snow ...
it's still yours
Though you're gone I can never release sweet
memories that remain etched in my soul so
devotedly ... it's your breath I feel when I lie
in bed at night ... it's your warmth that delivers
me from night chills that would otherwise freeze
forever any thoughts of happiness; I cannot be
sad when I sense you near ... I am numb to
death's icy tendrils and brush them off like
unwanted snowflakes upon my heart ...
it's ever you I seek
My eternal love you have ... a devotion that
time nor distance can ever diminish ... immortal
sentiments that will draw me close to you should
the days rest heavy and my spirit grow weary;
hush me in the realm of your wings and carry me
gently in those moments when I reach for you ...
when I long to be held and my soul aches
for your touch
Never will I believe you're truly gone from me; I
cannot see your precious smile yet it remains my
constant companion ... when I close my eyes and
tears stream from memories of our last moments
together I feel your love surround me ... snuggled
in the want of you ... I find peace and the will to
continue to follow ... wherever your spirit
leads me
Walk with me through days
of sorrow and times of joy ...
Stay with me ... as close
as each beat of my heart ...
I promised my love to you under the warmth of
an August sun long ago ... and even now through
these days of scarlet petals in the snow until the
hour I draw my last breath ...

Thanks for checking out my poem. Some days I go with the short story, others just an occasional poem. I do give poems as gifts or write them for people as well. That always makes me feel good to do something for someone else.
